Thanks for sharing your site!
Stereoty...Hi Nicole! Thanks for sharing your site!
Stereotyping is okay n I understand that it's difficult to understand something when you have been doing another all your life.

There are no good christians, rememeber that!
But for those "losers" who choose to follow their own ways....
Maybe those that had practiced the hmong culture or beliefs and or "ancestors" or any kinds of healing are tired of it or was not happy, sickness, cheating, lies, and temporary healing only. They at some point in their lives just wanted to give up,so they asked for a changed, prayed that if there is/and was a "real God change for happiness and healing that not only on earth but may it be after life.
Once they've found it, its hard to go back, Because that something "happened" and it continued to happen. they found peace, rest, they found love, and that is all it matters to them, No families, no friends, or anything can stop them from beliving in what they have experience.

As much as I know about the Hmong history, I am still convinced By "it" I'm my own perfect loserpahouanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2812247503649982405.post-69982262109958260382010-02-03T07:09:07.833-08:002010-02-03T07:09:07.833-08:00Nyab xeeb (Good health, not wife of Xeeb):
Hmong&...Nyab xeeb (Good health, not wife of Xeeb):

Hmong's cosmology had never been written down; orally transmitted across generations. We have lost much, but the ideal and meanings are still there. Shamanism is not a Hmong religion, but more of a spiritual therapeutic method.

As for the US/CIA covert operation in Laos during the American War in Vietnam, the ceased fire and the Vietnamization process started in 1973 already; only the Hmong persisted until '75 prior to the mass exodus across the mighty Mother River into Thailand and/or across rugged mountaineous ridges into the deep jungle to escaped persecution.

A good example of the Miao in China is to compare them to the Natives (Indians) of the US. There are lots of non-Han Chinese and other larger minority groups are grouped into this official government designation of Miao, but not all are Hmong; e.g. Sioux, Chippewa, Cherokee etc are all Natives American (Indian), but they are unique in their spoken language and cultures.

Currently my colleagues and I at the Poj Koob Yawm Ntxwv are in the process of printing the first of its kind, a book that discuss Hmong history (theorized legend), foundation of Hmongness, religion and faith, and the famous Hmong 4 quadrants philosophy. In this Phau Chiv Keeb (Book of Origin) there's clarification of the thaj neeb and Thaj Ua Neej; in it the detailed description of the spiritual purposes and human interpretation of all of the shamanistic tools; e.g. txiabneeb, kuamneeb, tswbneeb, ntajneeb, nruabneeb, roojneeb, xyab, tais rau xyab, cov tais dej/dlej, paj npleg/kws etc.

As for culture, please remember that it is meant to be progessive; each Hmong generation created and will continue to create and evolve culturally and spiritually. Just don't discount yours for it is not like your ancestor's. Embrace of what you inherited and enrich it with your current and future state of cultural and spiritual appropriateness.

Ua tsaug = Thanks!
